All vessels are licensed by the local Port Department and all Captains are required to have a valid Captain's license. Vessels are all fully insured.
our history
In 1978 Captain Philip Pinder started Born Free Fishing Charters with one boat, a 35ft Allman. It was the first charter boat on the dock on Paradise Island. The first Captain was Milton Pearce, a well-known Bahamian captain who fished and chartered throughout the Bahamas for over sixty years. Philp and Milton had the pleasure of chartering for celebrities, politicians, and amazing tourists some of which became lifelong friends.
Philip added additional boats to the fleet as the demand for fishing charters out of Nassau increased. His work was doing what he loved, boating, fishing, and sharing them with others.
In 2012, Philip added his nephew Nicholas to the daily running of the company. Nicholas, being an avid fisherman and boater himself was a perfect fit.
Today, the company is run completely by Nick under the watchful eye of his uncle. Born Free is up to five boats of various sizes and still offering daily fishing and snorkeling charters to tourists and locals alike.
