FULL TOUR DESCRIPTION

Discover the picturesque beauty of the Exuma Cays on a full day, all-inclusive tour led by local, experienced guides. Our beautiful and well-maintained powerboats have been customized for maximum speed and comfort to get you to multiple island stops in style. Guests will experience five separate island stops to make the most of their day away from Nassau. Be sure to have your cameras or phones ready, there will be lots of beauty to capture!

Set off from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal heading southeast for just over one hour until you arrive at Allen’s Cay. Here you will interact with the Bahamian Rock Iguanas that call this small island home. This species of lizard can be found nowhere else in the world other than three small islands in Exuma. Next, you will ride south through the Exuma Cays to Compass Cay where the nurse sharks are not shy, and welcome thousands of visitors per year to their home under the docks of Compass Cay Marina. Once you’ve finished your shark swim, you will move on to your next stop, Big Major’s Cay the home of the now world famous swimming pigs! These pigs have made their way around the world thanks to shows like ABC’s The Bachelor and many social media influencers who have visited the pigs here and have shared their experiences with millions of followers. Here you will have the opportunity to feed and swim with pigs. Don’t forget to take photos!

At this point we know you have worked up an appetite, next you will be off on a quick ride to lunch. Enjoy a delicious lunch and a cold drink at a local Exuma restaurant before getting back on the boat. Next you will have the chance to snorkel at a plane wreck known famously as "Pablo Escobar's sunken plane". The plane crashed in at this spot just off Norman's Cay in the late 1970's supposedly filled with cocaine.  During this time, Pablo Escobar had taken control of Norman's Cay and its small runway to utilize it as a home base and refueling point for the planes that were running cocaine from Mexico to the U.S. After you've snorkeled  you will be off to your last stop for the day which will be a beautiful sandbar or beach for swimming, sunbathing, and more photo taking.

*Order of itinerary is subject to change and is left to the discretion of the Captain.

Map of Exuma showing stops of the tour.

The Exuma Cays are made up of  350 islands and cays which is half of all the islands and cays in The Bahamas.

Our Exuma Island Hopping tour covers approximately 178 miles of ocean, beautiful endless beaches, and shallow and clear blue water during the journey. The most amazing places in Exuma may not be close but they sure are not to be missed.

This map is to assist in visualizing the journey of this tour, pointing out the stops that you will make along the way.

The most northern stop is Allen's Cay where the iguanas call home and the most southern stop is Black Point which is where the restaurant is located for lunch.

  • How long is the ride from Nassau to Exuma?
The Exuma Cays are made up of approximately 350 islands and cays and this tour will take you to visit some of the most popular sites within the cays. The first stop of this tour is Allen's Cay where you will see the iguanas. The ride time is approximately one hour to this stop.
  • What if the forecast is calling for rain?
The rain forecasts in The Bahamas as typically inaccurate and most rain showers are in small areas and pass by rather quickly. That being said, we do not cancel our tours ahead of time for rain. In the event there is a thunderstorm that is lingering over Nassau at the time of departure with no clearing in sight the tour would be cancelled. In the event that you encounter rain or thunderstorms in Exuma because of the distance away from Nassau, the tour will proceed with the Captain making needed adjustments on order of itinerary and timing. The tour can not turn around and return to Nassau if rain is encountered in Exuma.
  • Are there life vests onboard?
All commercially licenced vessels in The Bahamas are required by law to have life vests on board. Life vests are not required to be worn. If a guest would prefer to wear a life vest for the duration of the tour any crew member can assist with getting one for you.
  • I have dietary restrictions/allergies, is there food that will work for me?
This tour has a Bahamian styled buffet for lunch included in the cost of the tour. On this buffet there are always more than one kind of meat, and a few side options. We encourage guests to reach out to our team prior to departure to let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies so that we can make recommendations. Most times we can recommend the preorder of a menu item to avoid the buffet, or instruct guests to communicate allergies to the buffet attendant in cases where guests may not be sure of menu ingredients.
  • Is this tour appropriate for my small child?
We do not allow children under the age of two on this tour. However, we ask that parents with small children take into account that this is an 8 hour tour with quite a bit of time spent on the boat travelling. On group tours there is not a place for the child to lay down and in some instances there can be minimal shade throughout the day. We ask that all parents who may be unsure if this may be the right fit for their small children to please reach out to our team with any questions at all. We want everyone to enjoy their day!
  • How busy are the stops along the tour?
As Exuma is an extremely popular place for day tours the islands that we visit can be very busy with multiple tour boats at any given time. In high season during spring break, summer, and festive season during the end of November through the new year these islands can have upwards of 100 people at the more popular stops such as Compass Cay and Big Majors Cay. However in slower seasons, especially in September and October it is likely that your group may be the only group visiting a particular stop.
  • Is Exuma worth the hype?
In our opinion, absolutely! The Exuma Cays are widely considered one of the most beautiful places on earth. Part of the beauty of this tour is the ride. The shallow waters surrounding all of the small islands and cays allow visitors to see many shades of the clearest blue. The majority of the islands are uninhabited, making them prime locations for lush vegetation and untouched beaches and sandbars. These cays are a must see for those wanting to experience what true paradise looks like.
  • Can I still participate if I cannot swim?
There are definitely parts of the tour that someone who does not swim can participate in. Feeding the iguanas, interacting with the pigs, interacting with the nurse sharks, and the beach stop can be accessed by getting off onto the beach and walking to the depth of water that is comfortable for you. The only stop that would not be suitable is the snorkel at Pablo Escobar's plane as this area is away from shore and not standing depth of water.
  • I am visiting Nassau on a cruise, can I join this tour?
This tour does not typically work for cruise itineraries as it checks in at 8am and returns between 4:30pm and 5pm. This tour is also considered a long distance tour as the boat will take you up to 80 miles away from Nassau. There are many things that can delay the boat from returning on time such as weather, engine issues, etc. and can prevent you from being able to return to your ship on time. We are not responsible for guests that miss their ship due to delays in the tour.
